Minnesota Youth Skills Training & Employment Pathways
MyStep is a 12 week program that aims to realize the potential of BIPOC youth, and in turn, to improve equity in the workforce. We believe in supporting students to choose the best university to elevate their academic acumen and targeting work experiences that are beneficial to their career development. We help youth to make concerted efforts towards upward mobility, setting a foundation for future generations that is sustainable and can contribute wealth back to their community. Most importantly, we empower youth to establish professional connections with both active workers and rising talent among their peers. By establishing a collective journey, youth will travel further together, and seek to elevate their abilities to role models they met throughout the MyStep program. These youth develop lasting connections with these people that create a web of support that can support themselves and those struggling in the Immigrant and Refugee community. MyStep is a comprehensive program, developing youth towards career development objectives and community empowerment through work and service.
Our Career Pathway Agents (CPAs) conduct work with each youth to evaluate their interest and progress in career exploration activities, determine career goals, and develop a comprehensive Personal Learning Plan (PLP).
